2025 CCRG IN VISALIA

Another successful jamboree is behind us. What a wonderful time, the Charter Oaks pulled out all the stops for this one. Registration started Thursday with an afternoon seminar on Mitchell Overdrives for the early birds. Friday started early for the four tours; the Lemoore Naval Air Station, Rosa Dairy tour with lunch at Blains (what a place), The Whited/Foster memorabilia tour, and the VF Warehouse tour. A busy day no matter which tour you chose that ended in another fabulous BBQ dinner hosted by the CCRG Board. Stephanie Smith was the lead chef along with her sous-chef , Gary. Saturday’s three tours started a little later (7:45 am); a trip through the citrus and vineyard areas on the way the Exeter to see the many murals and Cache Museum, a tour of the back roads to the Blair Air Service to view a large crop dusting operation (planes, helicopters, and drones), and a wonderful drive to the Blain Foundation Auto Collection to view some vintage cars, airplanes, racing equipment , and a huge tree house. Two seminars in the afternoon took up the rest of the day , the Burtz engine building for the mechanics and era fun fashions for those that wanted to be seen in their best Model A duds.  The raffle room was always busy, table after table with great prizes that just made you purchase more tickets. The dinner was held in the Grand Ballroom of the  hotel with over 360 people in attendance, what a sight! The Charter Oaks did an outstanding job led by the co-chairpersons; Linda and Phil Kneeland. Speaking of the Kneelands, they were the recipients of the first Karen and David Bockman Service Award (the renamed Jacquie Conley Award). The success of the jamboree was a testament of their dedication and commitment to Mafca and CCRG. Congratulations!
